Cumax Wealth Management Limited (formerly Credit Union Fund Management Limited – CUFMC) was incorporated in August 2005 as the wealth and asset management arm of the Credit Union Movement. The Credit Union Fund Management Company was formed out of the need for Credit Union members to access foreign currency investments as well as other wealth accumulation products.

The company was rebranded on March 24, 2021 as it seeks to spread its clientele to serve the wider community. The CRIF Credit Bureau has been present in Jamaica since 2011, having originally been established as CRIF NM Credit Assure, a joint venture between CRIF S.p.A and the Massy Group, with the objective of providing a world-class credit bureau and related added-value services in Jamaica and the Caribbean. After obtaining the license in 2012 from the Ministry of Finance to operate a full file (positive and negative data) credit bureau in Jamaica, it began operations in September 2013.
At the beginning of 2017, CRIF took the full control of the company and now CRIF Information Bureau Jamaica Ltd. is part of the CRIF Group.

As a duly licensed credit bureau, in Jamaica CRIF collects credit information from B.O.J approved Credit Information Providers (CIP’s), such as banks, credit unions, building societies, micro finance organizations, etc.; the information is then validated and transformed into factual and usable credit reports. These credit reports are then used by credit grantors and other approved users to assess an individual’s or company’s credit worthiness for loans, mortgages and a variety of other uses within the purview of the Credit Reporting Act 2010.
